USA, All the Way!

Hey hey! The World Cup is over but there are SO many things to look forward to with regards to the 2010-2011 Premier League season. Top of the list of course, is Fernando Torres pulling a muscle in that World Cup final. Even though he's only out for about three weeks, I just like seeing the guy on the Anfield bench instead of scoring against the good guys.

Anywho, onto the bigger and better things...

#18's Possible extension

So, it looks like Paul Scholes might just want to keep on going after the end of the upcoming season at Old Trafford. Good stuff from the man who's been pulling the strings in our midfield for the past 18 or so seasons. The thing with Paul Scholes is, his class never seems to end. From his days as a Darron Gibson style shooter, to the midfield maestro of today, no one can ever deny that he is one of the world's best. So to have him back in our midfield, even if it's only for just another season or two, can be one of the biggest blessings Old Trafford will receive this summer.

Chicharito! (and to a smaller extent, Chris Smalling) ... terrible pun intended

Anyone who's watched the Mexico games will know that Javier Hernandez was an amazing buy for us, he looks set to be a great addition to our frontline. Some may argue that he hasn't proven himself at the highest level and that he might falter due to the tough, physical demands of the Premier League. Now, if I do something douchy and twist the official statistics to meet my wants, you'll see that Chicharito was Mexico's top scorer with an average of one goal every 84.5 minutes. The goals he picked up were scored against the 2006 World Cup finalists, France and the other against South American powerhouse Argentina. Also interesting to note, is that he has 16 caps for Mexico and has scored 9 goals for them. What I really want to know is, why he didn't start more games for Mexico.
As for Chris Smalling, I haven't heard too much about him to be honest. I'm sure he'll provide some extra solidarity in our defence. Especially if we have an injury crisis like last season where we had Fletcher and Carrick at the back. But yeah, looks like a pair decent signings so far.

New Kit

Now as far as the new kits for this season go, I must say, I'm not that impressed. I mean, it's not like I hate it, but it's not one that jumps out at me and I immediately like. But like with all United kits, I'm pretty sure this one will grow on me in a few months.

And finally... America... FUCK YEAH!!!

That's right, the Red Devils are in the U, S, of A for their pre-season tour. The boys are in Chicago right now, training getting revved up for the rough and tumble of the upcoming campaign. We've got games against Celtic, Philadelphia Union, the Kansas City Wizards, the MLS All-Stars, and then Chicharito's probable debut against his old club Chivas. I donno if I'm gonna be able to catch all the games, but it's always great seeing new blood in the team on these pre-season tours.

More pre-season news to follow...
