Goodbye Paul (the eight-legged one)

Breaking news out of Oberhausen, Germany. Paul the Octopus has died.

It's a sad day for all soccer fans who followed EURO 2008 and the 2010 World Cup. Paul correctly predicted all but two of Germany's scores and he nailed all of Germany's games at the World Cup and even predicted Spain to win.

How does an octopus with eight floppy tentacles and no ability to speak do this? Well, trainers put food in clear boxes in front of him labeled with the nations playing, and Paul just takes the food. After the end of this summer's World Cup, Paul retired from his work as a marine oracle and just chilled in his massive tank.

I didn't really know him that well, but I think we can agree that he's in a better place now, helping the mafia of the afterlife rig undead sporting events.

And since I don't know what song lyrics to use as an epitaph, I'll just say this to you Paul...

"I'm never gonna dance again,
guilty feet have got no rhythm.
Though it's easy to pretend,
I know you're not a fool."
