Rival Watch: All out to Chel-sea

I'm back, baby.

"I'll take one to go, thanks..."

First order of business:

City's resounding 3-1 win over West Ham may be a positive for those guys, but the headlines have been snatched by their, at times, talismanic captain.

And he knocks the wind right out of their not-too-extended sails by handing in an official transfer request. That's right, he wants out of Manchester completely. Here's hoping all hell breaks loose at Eastlands.

"Eeeeowwwwwwwwwww"

Elsewhere, Chelsea and Spurs battled it out at White Hart Lane on Sunday night, and an early Roman Pavlyuchenko goal was ruled out by a thumping half-volley by Didier "F&*%ing Disgrace" Drogba. This means both teams share the spoils in what can be seen as the second biggest match-up of this weekend. A draw between those two only helps both United and Arsenal ahead of this behemoth of a game on Monday night.

So, the scene is set. Arsenal are top by a point, but have played a game more than us—level with City, who have had 180 more minutes on the pitch in the league than us.

The equation?

A draw: would see Arsenal still top, while we would slot into second place - still with a game in hand on everyone.

A win: would see Arsenal slip to second and allow us to go ahead of them by a couple of points—and we'd have a game in hand.

A loss: would see Arsenal lead outright, 3 ahead of City and 4 ahead of us. A win with that game in hand would still see us trail them.

So wipe that saliva off your chin, it's gearing up to be a tight, tense affair, which may get turbulent. And it will either be traumatic or triumphant, so let's get tapping—wood-tapping.
