UEFA Champions League Group Draws

Ooo, shiny.

So! Our group's been drawn!

We've got Valencia (ESP), Rangers (SCO) and TURKISH CHAMPIONS Bursaspor, known as the Green Crocodiles. What d'you reckon? Green Crocodiles vs. Red Devils... oh, the many levels of humour. Seriously, though, if history's taught us anything, it's that you shouldn't underestimate the "minnows" in any competition.

In other news, Spurs get drawn in the same group as Inter Milan (ITA), Werder Bremen (GER) and FC Twente (NED) in Group A, Arsenal face off against some easy teams (on paper),

"Dodged some bullets" - Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal representative

—Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR), FC Braga (POR) and FK Partizan (SRB)—and the group of death is easily Group G, comprising AC Milan (ITA), Real Madrid (ESP), Ajax (NED) and AJ Auxerre (FRA).

Full Draw:
Group A - Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Werder Bremen, FC Twente
Group B - Lyon, Benfica, Schalke, Hapoel Tel Aviv
Group C - Manchester United, Valencia, Rangers, Bursaspor
Group D - Barcelona, Panathanaikos, Copenhagen, Rubin Kazan
Group E - Bayern Munich, FC Roma, Basel, FC Cluj
Group F - Chelsea, Marseille, Spartak Moscow, Zilina
Group G - AC Milan, Real Madrid, AFC Ajax, AJ Auxerre
Group H - Arsenal, Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Braga, Partizan Belgrade

Another smashing season of European football awaits! Matches start on the 14-15 September, totally after Hari Raya! (for those of you who care...) Also, did you know the final will be played at Wembley? Memories of 1968, anyone? I personally hope for a repeat of the 2007-08 campaign, don't you?
