Captain Vidic

According to United's website, Sir Alex has confirmed that Nemanja Vidic will continue as United's on-field captain for the time being. Gary Neville however, remains as United's club captain.

I for one, am glad that we'll have some continuity when it comes to our captaincy. For the past few years, we've been alternating between Neville, Giggs, Ferdinand, and van der Sar. Now don't get me wrong, these are great players, but only van der Sar has been able to stay relatively fit the past few years and play most of our important fixtures.

It's important to note that Vidic is only our "on-field captain" while Neville is the club captain. The question that this seems to beg is, "Who will succeed Gary Neville as Manchester United's next captain?"

Anywho, that's all in the future... Right now, Fergie's been looking for a consistent presence outfield to wear our armband and Vidic fits the bill perfectly. So to Nemanja I say congratulations on becoming United's new on-field captain and may he lead us to many victories starting with Liverpool this weekend.
