Poll Results: 9/11

First of all, I'm gonna apologize for posting this two weeks after the poll closed. I've been busy with exam stuff but hey, we're almost back to full swing and I can promise that after this month, we'll have our guns (all two of them) blazing.

So, a VERY long time ago I asked you people who you thought would be the ideal replacement for Gary Neville as club captain. I gave you the choice of:

• Rio Ferdinand
• Darren Fletcher
• Ryan Giggs
• Wayne Rooney
• Nemanja Vidic
• Other

The winner here was Nemanja Vidic, taking an incredible 51% of the poll. That means that 16 of you, Sir Alex Ferguson included, picked Nemanja Vidic to keep the armband permanently. So far, he hasn't done anything to change my mind. He's been rock solid at the back and his determination to win games is really evident in the other players as well.

In second place was Ryan Giggs with 25% of the vote and in third was Darren Fletcher with 12%.

I should also mention that I would have voted for Wayne Rooney (who in the end got ZERO votes), and this was long before the whole "I'm gonna cheat on my wife and tell my club that I wanna leave." I was surprised that he wasn't getting many votes. Then the fiasco happened and I can now happily admit that you were right and I was wrong.
